Camp Schedule & Descriptions

Frozen Fun | June 12th & June 13th
Cool off with some Frozen-themed fun at our opening Summer Skate Camp! First, we'll go on a scavenger hunt throughout Midwest looking for clues based on our favorite Frozen lyrics. After the hunt, we'll make a craft and play a variety of games including Frozen Spot it! Next, we'll munch on some snacks including Sven's favorite food - carrots! On the ice, we'll let it go and work on our speed! Practicing skills to help us be more efficient moving across the ice!

Roarin' Skate Party | June 19th &  June 20th
Roarin' Skate Party | Let's go on a jungle adventure Lion King style! We'll begin our camp by designing an animal mask based off of your favorite characters such as Simba, Timon, or Pumbaa! Next we'll play a variety of games with a jungle twist! After, we'll head to the Watering Hole station to quench our thirst!. Our featured snack is not quite slimy, but it sure is satisfying - Gummy Grubs! On the ice, we'll try new variations and combinations of skills because Hakuna Matata means no worries!

Galactic Skate | June 26th &  June 27th
Become a Jedi of the Midwest Council! To start off the camp, we'll use the force to create a foam DIY lightsaber (NoodleSaber). When our NoodleSabers are ready, we'll hone our lightsaber skills and practice footwork drills off ice. Next, we'll enjoy a tasty treat that's out of this world! On the ice, we'll continue to work on our agility and footwork! All Midwest Jedi Council members will receive a certificate upon completion of their Jedi training.

A Whole New World | July 10th & July 11th
Come on down, stop on by, hop a carpet and fly! Our Aladdin-themed camp will kick off with a magic carpet paper mosaic craft. Next, we gotta keep one jump ahead of the breadline. Like Aladdin, we'll jump and roll under obstacles before we eat our snack. After, we'll sip on Genie Juice (Kool-Aid) and a snack from Midwest's "Agrabah Marketplace". On the ice we'll practice our gliding skills as we pretend to soar through an endless diamond sky!

So You Think You Can Skate? | July 17th & July 18th
Get ready to dance and skate! We'll have fun doing some fitness-inspired moves to a variety of kid-friendly music. Between dancing and skating, we'll refuel with a healthy snack. On the ice, we'll work on creatively moving to the music while refining our posture & extensions. We'll be moving and grooving to a variety of music including popular Disney tunes & more!

This is the Greatest Show! | July 24th & July 25th
Girls and boys this is the moment you've waited for! Join us for our Summer Skate Camp Finale! First, we'll work on our acrobatic skills in the gym. Next up - carnival games! Multiple stations will be set up including a clothespin drop, bean bag toss, the grand prize game & more! After everyone has had a few turns at each game station, we'll have a snack! For our final skate lesson, we will learn a simple routine to showcase the skills we've been practicing at camp! We invite parents to come early to watch their on ice performance at noon!

Nice friendly atmosphere. The staff was very helpful and the place was well-maintained. I particularly liked the new coasting dolphins (available for a fee) to assist new/younger skaters. Because of them, my 4 & 5 year-old nieces became quite comfortable on the ice in rapid time. This facility might experiment with background music to heighten the skating experience.Patricia S. B.
